Pasiparuppu Payasam/Moong Dhal Payasam

Pasiparuppu Payasam is one of the easiest but yummy payasam which we used to make during Festivals or Poojas. It is rich in protein as well as iron content and good for children in health prespective.I too love this payasam for no reasons and of course all my family members do.Its rich in dhal and ghee which makes your mouth watering for sure.Lets make the yummy recipe and enjoy.
Ingredients
Moong Dhal-1/2 Cup
jaggery-1/4 to 1/2  cup(or as per your taste)
Elachi Powder-1 tsp
Cashew nuts-5 nos
Raisins-5 nos
Chopped coconut-2 tsp
Ghee-3 tsp
Salt-a pinch

Pictorial
Heat a tsp of ghee in a cooker.Add moong Dhal to it and fry it till it nice aroma comes.

Now add water and close the lid of the cooker.Wait for 3 whistles.
Once the pressure goes off open the lid and add jaggery, pinch of salt and elachi powder to it and mix it well.(I used Country sugar/Nattu sakkarai here)

Fry cashew nuts, raisins and finely chopped coconut in ghee and add it to the moong dhl mixture.

Now add milk to get the required payasam consistency and serve.
Note-
Don`t add too much cashews or raisins as it changes the traditional taste.
Fry coconut in ghee and then add to the payasam. It gives an excellent flavour.
Add ghee as per your taste but use atleast  minimum 2 tsp otherwise it won`t taste good.
